As some were saying, we need a congressional committee similar to the Church Commission in the 1970’s to investigate the intelligence agencies. They’ve gone so rogue that it feels like they are the greatest enemy the people of America (and the world) currently face. And if this ever happens, one has to wonder if the media would bother covering it.
I watched the whole hearing, which seemed pretty short as these things go, only about an hour and a half. This was mostly due to the fact that not a single Democratic senator deigned to attend.
What resulted was a rather refreshing, reasonable conversation without the customary outraged grandstanding for soundbites.
I cancelled my subscription to the Toronto Star about 2 or 3 years ago for their misinformation and taking aim at the injured. But, I’ve come to realize both wings belong to the same bird.
