People are convicted and sent to prison under the "beyond a reasonable doubt" standard based on nothing but circumstantial evidence all the time. Jurors are often instructed something to the effect of: "The law does not distinguish between direct and circumstantial evidence in terms of their weight or value in finding the facts in this case. One is not necessarily more or less valuable than the other."
Discussing circumstantial evidence surrounding matters of public import and forming opinions based on that evidence are totally legitimate activities. Attempts to shut such discussion down as the wild rantings of conspiracy theorist white supremacists are bullshit.
