A properly written critique of this process would be impossible for Nature Medicine to ignore. They would have to publish it and respond to its numerous lines of argument or refuse to publish it, in which case it would be published in another journal or outside the peer-reviewed journal system. I could write such a critique myself, but I am not a virologist. There are a few virologists who could do this, but so far, nothing has happened, AFAIK. To admit that a handful of virologists recklessly caused the pandemic and that most virologists to this day *cover-up* this crime against humanity (as GoF on potentially human viruses is, whether it causes a pandemic or not), *completely* blows the central themes of the mainstream response supporters: Trust the Science. No question gain of function labs need a complete overhaul with regulatory oversight. This lab leak has killed many and maimed many. To me stronger rules and oversight is a no brainer. Why isn’t that happening after this disaster? It’s worrisome hearing that scientists who have a clear bias and conflict of interest have been addressing people who are in charge including the president. So much disinformation coming from our governments is frustrating and scary. I don’t quite understand the depths of deception that people are working so hard, bending over backwards trying to hide it from the public. Worried about the fall out? I was never aware of the extremes governments go to hide truth from the people. They continue to lie about the leak, vaccine injuries and the high mortality rates experienced by every country who did some serious vaccinating. And they wonder why people are angrier.
