Moreover: less sexily, but still a matter of critical importance: the trees created by phylogeny building software depend critically on the identification of a common ancestral sequence. Selective choice of parameters and origin change the shape of these trees - and therefore the origin of covid - radically; perhaps to conform to a less-embarrassing, less career-threatening narrative.
The BBC, which I have long supported - needs to start disentangling culture war and science journalism; and to start remembering that is paid by the people, not the Wellcome trust.

Enter Peter Daszak of EchoHealth who writes a grant proposal in 2018 to DARPA to take bat viruses & make them more likely to infect humans of which Dr. Shi of the WIV will conduct the testing. Fauci funds EchoHealth for GAF research, a leak occurs in a Wuhan lab that had known safety issues and voila, COVID. Scientists are speculating that sequence looks manufactured and all of a sudden secret meetings are held by Fauci of course, the Lancet letter is drafted and signed by scientists who have now changed their position of theory to natural origin (all secretly orchestrated by Daszak), grant $ is doled out to keep scientists quiet, Fauci has email exchange w Zuckerberg to get a handle on "Misinformation", he shuts down all debate, emails are redacted and somehow this guy who is in control of billions of $$ is crowned a f'ng saint????!! Jim Geraghty of NR had a good point "The 2nd great mystery of this pandemic is why so many powerful people don't seem to feel any sense of urgency about solving the 1st great mystery" (How it got started). Just seems like Fauci has been playing COVID Wack a Mole for years now.
