This is all so confusing. Are the dems worried about a backlash which could ruin their chances of winning the election? Why can’t people be truthful? Perhaps at the time they were getting advice from Peter Hotez and his ilk that shutting down “misinformation” was imperative to end the pandemic and deaths could spiral out of control? People like Hotez are still singing the same tune. Worse, maybe they like having the ability to control social media. I know for myself I’m screaming angry that beneficial information about these shots causing injuries was censored. I wish I’d been able to read info when all that was available was the misleading narrative spewed out ad nauseam. How dare they!

The problem is too many people rely on social media. I knew everything about the laptop just by sticking with publications, fox news (sorry but they had it right) & independent voices. Even Elon Musk is bowing to pressure recently. FB & it's ultra liberal human engine is so easy to manipulate because the company lacks any diversity of thought.

Facebook yanked a satirical meme that I posted—and it was making fun of Trump!—but they did it *two years* after the fact, in 2023. I appealed, twice, and they finally relented.

The impetus that Covid gave the Censorship Industrial Complex was like gasoline on a fire. It's become a huge Industry, largely NGOs which are fronting for various government agencies, and which is constantly looking for new projects to get funding for. There are also entirely new academic "disciplines" becoming part of the interconnected positive feedback loops. It's a cancer.

We can't undo the harm that was done but I sure as hell don't want this to continue.

Not sure why we are surprised by what seemed obvious to any reasonable person in 2020-2024. and it keeps going on for every single topic where there is a Pravda to be promoted by censors. please look at what happened last week in Germany with the testimony of the Robert Koch Institute's President and the blunt admission of what politicians (and scientists? happily bowed to) did. US were not different from Germany, Italy, UK and China in managing the pandemic.
